Preparing to Get Your Roof Cleaned

OK, you have hired a company to come and clean your roof (we hope it is us), now what ? It is May 12th 2012, and we have not had any rain here in Tampa Florida for a long time. This means, the plants are all very dry, and also very thirsty. Unlike us Humans, who will eat and drink even if we are not hungry and thirsty, a plant only takes from the earth what it needs to survive. The chemicals we use to clean and treeat your roof are poisons to plants. Remember, that is a plant growing up there, and we must remove and kill it, or it will grow right back. The plants will drink this chemical and die, if they are thirsty, because unlike us Humans, they have no sense of taste or smell. So, we ask you to water the plants the night before we come to clean your roof, so this does not happen. Our groundspeople will promptly water the chemicals off your plants as we are working, to protect them. Dogs and Cats are not a problem, because they can smell, and want no part of the solution we use to clean your roof with. Dogs will bark at us (though we love all animals), because we are people they have never seen, spraying some stuff they have never smelled before, in a place (your roof) where they have never seen people before. But, just for safety, all animals should be put inside the day we come out. We could never live with ourselves if the wind carried the roof cleaning solution into an animals eyes. If you have no gutters, BBQ’s, Plants in Pots, etc, etc, should be moved either out into the yard, or put away from any possibility of solution dripping on them. Cars should be out of the driveway, and people must not come and go as long as we are there. We have cleaning roofs down to a science, and will not be at your home all day long. Usually, we only need a few hours, and the result will be a safely cleaned roof, that will stay that way for many years.
